E1: Final dissemination conference

Ostrava, May 2023

A two-day conference took place in Ostrava on 11-12 May 2023. The idea of the event was mainly to introduce to experts, students and representatives of companies dealing with the restructuring and revitalization of mining sites, the Course for students, which was developed by the project consortium and presented by the project's leader Jindřich Šancer.

The conference, attended by more than 40 experts in the field, also contributed to the sharing of the expectations of companies for the competencies of young engineers and technical personnel focused on the management of mine assets in the closure process.

The conference participants were not only from project partner countries, the Czech Republic, Germany, Spain and Poland, but also experts from the United States or Tanzania.

On the second day of the conference, participants travelled to Poland to visit the Guido Mine, an example of post-mining property development for tourism purposes. The excursion was also a unique networking opportunity for all participants.

The final conference was the result of a two-year project co-funded by Erasmus+ 2020-1-CZ01-KA226-HE-094221. The partners of this project within the established consortium continue to cooperate and prepare follow-up events and international projects as well as networking activities (COST Action CA22138).
